Samuel also swam well in all 4 strokes. She also took part in Freestyle. Mhari Duncan swam in the same age group and reduced her time in Backstroke and Breaststroke. She also swam M Freestyle for the first time and did well in this longer distance event. Isla reduced her time in all her 3 events- Fly, Breaststroke and Freestyle. Unfortunately Peebles were short of a swimmer in several of the age groups, thus losing out on points, not only in those individual events, but also in some of the relays.
In the Junior League they managed to finish in 2nd place behind Hawick and Teviotdale, and in the Intermediate League Duns finished 1st, with Peebles in 5th place. The 2nd round will take place on 27th April at Galashiels.
Peebles had 9 swimmers taking part- 7 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. She reduced her time in the Backstroke and the IM. She was just outside her best times in the 50M events and did well in her first time swimming M Freestyle.Master Swim Meet January 19 2014 Superstar FItness
The 11 year old swimmers were Jodie Pyman and Conall Scott. She also swam 50M Breaststroke and all 3 times were new PBs.

The following day Thomas Nicoll swam in the 12 years age group and Finlay Dewar in the 14 years events. All except the M Freestyle were new PBs. Kingsland has an excellent record in these championships, with many finalists over the years,and indeed several champions. The most recent winner was Lynn Duncan in the Butterfly in and, prior to that, Chris Shaw in the Freestyle in andalso the boys relay team those same two years.
Thomas kept up the Kingsland traditionwith an excellent win in the Freestyle. Jodie swam in the Butterfly and she finished in 10th place, just outside her best time.
Both swimmers did well to get through to these championships in the first place. It was her first time doing this length of IM and she performed extremely well, finishing in 2nd place. In the Breaststroke event she finished just outside her best time. Swimmers are to sit with the team. Ivanhoe Neons team uniform is to be worn for the duration of the meet.
Swimmers must maintain energy stores by constant hydration and snacking on appropriate foods. Appropriate warm-downs are to be completed. Club uniform must be worn on the dais when receiving medals. You will be notified by your coach which swim meets are appropriate for you to attend. Metro North records can be achieved when times are broken at the Metro North Championships or when a swimmer represents the club at an aggregate or open meet.
Records can also be achieved when swimmers are representing Metro North 7 year old Inter-district, Encouragement and Intra-district competitions. Approved Meets Approved swim meets are competitions that Swimming Victoria has recognised as having been conducted in a way, with appropriate officials, so that the accuracy of the times recorded at the meet have been assured.
These times are recorded for qualifying for State and Australian Championships and are held in the Swimming Victoria database. Australian Championships These are held in April each year in a different capital city.
